Violence, Trust, and Vaccine Hesitancy (ViVac)

The ViVac project sets out to better understand how behavioral responses to violence translate into health outcomes. Armed conflict often destroys infrastructure, displaces populations, and disrupts health services. However, exposure to violence may also change whether and how people seek healthcare, affecting health outcomes. While we largely understand the effects of physical destruction, we know very little about how healthcare-seeking behavior is impacted – even though understanding this may be crucial for improving healthcare coverage, especially of young mothers and children, two groups known to be particularly adversely affected by conflict.
